There is a critical need for research on Essential Tremor (ET)! Increased government investment in ET research provides an excellent opportunity to address scientific challenges directly. Federal support through agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) drives foundational research, while state-level funding fosters innovation and bolsters local research initiatives. Together, we can make significant progress toward better understanding and treating Essential Tremor!
The Essential Tremor Public Policy Agenda: A Catalyst for Essential Tremor Advocacy Success

The Essential Tremor Policy Network (ETPN) is the grassroots advocacy program for the Essential Tremor community, organized by DSF. Through the ETPN, individuals living with Essential Tremor, their care partners, families, and supporters can influence public policy at both the federal and state levels. By sharing personal stories and engaging with lawmakers, advocates help ensure that policy decisions reflect the diverse experiences and needs of those affected by Essential Tremor.

Members of the ETPN receive timely action alerts and policy updates:
  • Access to digital tools and advocacy resources.
  • Invitations to participate in coordinated campaigns. 
  • Opportunities to meet with elected officials.
  • Attend signature events like the Essential Tremor Conference.
