Essential Tremor Patient Founded
The Diann Shaddox Foundation (DSF) for Essential Tremor Research is different by design—built to be an active force for a cure for Essential Tremor (ET). As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2014, its momentum is fueled by a combination of personal lived Essential Tremor experience from its leadership.
Founded by author Diann Shaddox, who has lived with the challenges of ET her entire life, its leadership consists of members with Essential Tremor who share this journey. This first-hand personal stake changes the urgency; the decision-making fuels a pressing need for a patient-first approach. We do not just wait for a cure—we actively build the infrastructure to find one. Inspired by the heartfelt stories shared by others who struggle with ET, Diann knew she wasn't alone on this journey and felt a strong sense of urgency to offer support and seek a cure for Essential Tremor. She founded this organization to advocate for worldwide awareness, unite the ET community, and lead research to develop new treatments and a cure. |

Essential Tremor (ET) is a progressive, highly prevalent neurological disease that causes unintentional, rhythmic tremors in different parts of the body. ET can begin at any age and doesn't discriminate by age, race, sex, or national origin. ET tends to run in families.
