The Diann Shaddox Foundation Mission
The Diann Shaddox Foundation for Essential Tremor is a Non-Profit public organization 501 c(3). DSF’s mission is to educate and increase awareness about people afflicted with Essential Tremor and to donate medical research grants to doctors to find a cause and cure. Essential Tremor is a progressive neurological condition that causes a rhythmic trembling of the hands, head, voice, legs, or body. Over 42 million people worldwide including children have ET.
At this time, there isn’t enough awareness or funds donated to doctors, investigators in the field for research for Essential Tremor, the largest neurological disorder, and we need seed money to fund annual grants to bring advances in this field.
We at DSF believe we can make a difference in millions of people’s lives and directly change the future for everyone who will inherit or develop Essential Tremor. We want to show that Essential Tremor isn’t just for the elderly, but children of all ages have ET. We can bring people out of hiding and educate teachers so children and teens aren’t bullied about their tremors. The stories are endless from people struggling with depression and living with ET.DSF has started a Stop Bullying Program, Family Assistance Program, and a Suicide Awareness Program.
